Steampunk

Steampunk describes an alternate timeline based on the industrial revolution, where steam-powered technology like airships, robots and appliances are commonplace. Invention and imagination are common themes in these manga, and elaborate, mechanical devices with cogs, gears, wheels and lenses are found everywhere, even in the outfits of ordinary people.
